CredibleMind Debuts Science-Backed Flourishing Course at NACCHO360 – Promoting Positive Mental Health for Communities and Individuals

WASHINGTON, D.C. – August 21, 2024 – CredibleMind, a leader in population digital mental health solutions, is excited to introduce The Flourishing Course, an innovative online program designed to equip individuals with the skills needed to maintain positive mental health and live with greater happiness, purpose, and life satisfaction.

In collaboration with the National Association of City and County Health Officials (NACCHO), CredibleMind unveiled The Flourishing Course for public health departments at the  NACCHO360 conference, held in Detroit, Michigan. This groundbreaking program, set to be available in fall 2024, serves as a cornerstone of the CredibleMind Community Mental Health Platform – a comprehensive and customized mental wellbeing resource center for communities and the individuals they serve.

Lori Tremmel Freeman, NACCHO CEO

“At NACCHO, our mission is to enhance the health and wellbeing of all communities across the country,” said Lori Tremmel Freeman, NACCHO CEO. “The Flourishing Course is an important option for health departments as they work on ways to empower individuals to take proactive steps towards better mental health to achieve a higher quality of life.”

Deryk Van Brunt, CEO of CredibleMind and professor at UC Berkeley School of Public Health, emphasized the significance of this new offering: “Mental health goes beyond the absence of disease. It’s about nurturing positive emotions, building strong relationships, and finding a sense of purpose. The Flourishing Course provides practical, evidence-based strategies to help individuals and communities thrive.”

The Flourishing Course is designed to be inclusive, accessible, and relevant to everyone, regardless of their current mental health status. It encourages each of us to care for our health through activities that promote positive mental health and provide the evidence-based skills to do so.

The Flourishing Course can be utilized as a stand-alone program, or integrated into the CredibleMind platform, which includes solutions like SelfCare and SmartScreen for population mental health.

This self-paced, six-module online program features interactive exercises, assessments, and worksheets based on principles of positive psychology, ensuring a dynamic and engaging learning experience.

“Unlike traditional mental health resources, The Flourishing Course is interactive and designed for sustained impact,” explained Van Brunt. “Participants can dedicate just a few hours to develop skills and habits that promote lasting positive change in their lives.”

Coalition Efficiency: Uniting for Success

Often, community problems or issues (such as mental and behavioral health) are too large and complex for any one agency or organization to tackle. Putting together a coalition of schools, businesses, government, community organizations, or other affected groups can be an effective way to make an impact and achieve common goals.
